Repositories that live beside the stories they are for. Every change takes the same road, work branch to dev to stage to main, one pull request at a time, and nobody pushes to the branches that matter.
Everything a team needs to ship code. Nothing it has to set up.
Source code
Squid keeps the code with the work: repositories with a file explorer, commits and line diffs, editing in the browser, and a small squid command to commit and push from your computer. There is no Git server to run.
Every repository starts with main, stage and dev
Commits, diffs and history for every branch
A squid command for your own machine
Branches and pull requests
Nobody pushes straight to main, stage or dev. Work happens on branches named for what they carry, feat/ or fix/, and moves one step at a time through pull requests: into dev, then stage, then main.
Starting a task opens its branch, from the base you pick
Reviews tied to the version reviewed
Conflicts resolved together, file by file
Private repositories
A repository is open to its project’s team, or private to its owner and the people given access. Each person is a writer or a guest who only reads.
Hidden from everyone else
Write or guest, person by person
The owner and admins decide
Environment and secrets
Variables for development, staging and production, kept with the repository. Secrets are sealed and shown as dots; revealing or copying one is logged, never its value.
Import a pasted .env
Pull an environment to a local file
Who did what, without the values
And it knows the work.Start a task and Squid offers its branch, named from the task and from the branch you choose. A defect being fixed opens its fix/ branch. The pull request sits beside the story it is for.
Coming next
What Source does next.
01
Clone and push with git
Your usual git and your editor’s git tools, with the same branch rules kept on every push.
02
Comments on lines, required approvals
Review a pull request line by line; protected branches need the approvals you set.
03
Checks on every pull request
The pipeline runs on each new head, and the merge waits for green.
Soon
Squid Source, on its own.
For teams that want the code flow first. Start with repositories and pull requests, and bring the backlog, sprints and the rest of Squid in when you are ready: everything you already have links up.
Repositories, branches and pull requests, without the rest of Squid
Protected main, stage and dev from the first commit
Private repositories, writers and read-only guests
Environment values and sealed secrets per environment
Add the backlog later, and every branch links to its story
Be the first to try it.Join the waitlist and we will invite your team as soon as Source opens on its own.
